Tap Avis

Privacy Policy

Updated October 9, 2026

Tap Avis is a service of Liasse Technologique (“Liasse Technologique”, “we”, “us”). This notice describes how we handle the information of merchants and of the customers who visit their review pages. For access, correction or deletion requests, write to Liasse Technologique at dory@liasse.tech.

Merchant accounts and drafts

We collect your name, email, password hash, business details, uploaded logo and offers to provide your account and generate Apple Wallet passes. Drafts, including text conversations, expire after 24 hours. Secure activation links expire after 30 minutes. Account sessions last up to 30 days. Active accounts, campaigns and payment references remain stored while the service needs them to provide your offers and maintain transaction records.

Search and AI assistance

Business searches go to Google Places. You review and confirm the business information and artwork you publish. We do not import Google reviews or business photos. Text prompts and the current offer are sent to OpenAI. Voice, when you turn on the microphone, is sent directly to Google Gemini; Tap Avis does not store raw voice recordings. Voice can update the offer draft. Do not enter passwords or sensitive customer information into either assistant. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to its services.

Visitors and Wallet passes

We use a random first-party browser cookie, retained for up to a year, to estimate repeat visits and issue a consistent pass to that browser. We record page visits, QR-source visits, downloads, device categories, referring site names, Wallet registration events and merchant-confirmed redemptions. Event history is retained for up to 366 days. Identifiers are hashed; these statistics are not counts of identifiable people. Tap Avis does not collect customers’ precise location. A pass may contain the merchant’s location so Apple Wallet can show nearby suggestions according to the customer’s settings.

Reviews and gift verification

When you rate a business, we store your rating, your comment and your language, linked to that business and a random browser identifier, and we show them to that business. To claim a gift, you give a mobile number and Twilio sends you a one-time code by text message. We keep a keyed hash of the number, not the number itself, so each person can claim one gift per offer. Codes expire after 10 minutes. If you choose to email the owner, the message goes from your own email app to the business.

Service providers and security

Railway hosts the service. SendGrid sends account emails. Twilio sends gift verification codes. PayPal processes paid-offer checkout; Tap Avis stores order and capture references, not card details. Apple handles Wallet installation. Provider processing may occur outside Canada. Credentials are encrypted at rest and passwords are hashed. Necessary account cookies keep you signed in. No advertising cookies are set by Tap Avis.
